Coming boom in broadcast 3D?

I ran across the following item that seemed interesting in light of
recent discussions about 3D on TV:

We can expect to see much more 3-D television in the future as
new and better 3-D films are made and as programs are prepared
specially for 3-D broadcast. In April and May 1982, forty-six
stations throughout the United States broadcast in 3D. So save
the glasses that came with this book. The filters are the right
     colors for viewing 3-D TV.

>From "Amazing 3-D" by Hal Morgan and Dan Symmes (1982).

The filters might be the right colors, but it is interesting to note
that the glasses with the book are red-left. The cover drawing shows
red-right glasses, and a sketch of "Batman" anaglyph glasses in the
book, plus two others on the same page, are all red-right. To be sure
it wasn't a case of the library substituting incorrect replacements for
the original glasses, I noted that the images in the book all look
normal (non-pseudo) with the red-left glasses.
