Re Super Dooper close up 3d

Lincoln Kamm asks about the possibility of adding a second lens to the Teco
6 inch close up to get 3-4 inches . I have not actualy tried it but I think
it might be better to get another single lens powerfull enough to do this .
The quality of the Teco lens is not that high although I have also been
pleased with most of my results with it and slide film. The other point is
that this lens with a 18mm pair is still about 3x the 1/30 rule and
although I dont notice much stretch of the stereo effect I dont think you
could get much closer without problems. Placing the close up across both
lenses of the pair does not actualy reduce the seperation but converges the
axes so that the views overlap and reduces mono elements at the edges.
Eventualy this should lead to distortion and the actual angle between views
is being increased not decreased.
 But its probably worth a try anyway I would be interested to hear how you
