I have wondered this myself as I have purchased three collections
of 50's/60's stereo slides and observed the same problem with almost all of
the non-Kodachrome images. Perhaps it has soemthing to do with the loss of
contrast?

More likely an inferior adhesive.

It would be interesting to make a survey on this subject. The only
problem is not everyone has the same ability to judge resolution, and we
all use different speeds of film & processing.

I agree...the images Paul sent for the exhibit are wonderful! I'm
still stumped how he achieved some of the colours!
