Several people have asked about a slide bar for macro work.  I bought
one from Jasper Engineering (1240 A Pear Ave, Mountain View, CA 94043)
and have had excellent results, using that with a Maxxum 700si and Maxxum
Macro 55mm lens -- (and I'm a novice at this too!)  If you write them they
will send you their catalog.
