so what could I do but go and count?
 Lestrade catalogues
1964  -1560 cards
1967- 1560cards
1969-2080 cards
1970-2080 cards
1990-3120 cards

Like the true scientist I am I was tempted
to massage the data , but the fear of "peer
review" forces me to report  the facts.

(n.b. I didn' t actually count every single entry,
in every single catalogue(what do you think I am?)
I counted the number of views listed per collumn
in a typical collumn, and multiplied by the
number of collumns. If anyone wants to start a
thread on sampling error you're on your own pal.)
