Is hyper more natural than hypo?

Someone mentioned that maybe it is because of motion parallax (or movement
of our heads) that hyperstereo seems so natural. Which brings the obvious
question, is hyperstereo more natural than hypostereo?

Assuming I record a familiar scene with half (hypo) and twice (hyper) the
normal interocular distance. What is more likely an observer to
characterize as unusual (unatural?) the hypo or hyper?
