Club competitions vs. public exhibitions

You mentioned "our members". Now I am a bit confused. If you want to
help your members improve their photographic skills then why do you
invite the rest of the world to participate? (from previous posting:
"All 3D photographers are eligible")

In the PSA competitions the objective is to attract the best stereo
images which are then exhibited to the public. The objective is to
get the local public interested in 3d by showing them good stereo
images. The competition is just a way to collect these images.

Also from pervious posting: "Everyone is welcome to attend the
competition judging and showing." Is there going to be a "showing"
(public exhibition) after the judging or is the judging and showing
one and the same thing?

Perhaps this is the root of our misunderstanding. If you want to
keep this event mainly within the members of your club then the
objective and procedures are OK for me. (But why do you invite
the rest of the world to participate?) If you want to have this
event open to the general public and consider this a good promotion
for stereo photography, then my previous comments (regarding
unnecessary restrictions) apply.
