Re: Rent-DrT or Visit-DrT?

Thanks Paul for the nice report of your visit!

The projectionist in Detroit was using his Brackett Dissolver,
adjusted so that the infinity points were matching right on the
screen! (normally the infinity points show the maximum separation
and the stereo mask is matched on the screen, putting the stereo
window on screen level) This is happening for two years now (but
only in special occasions, since for the competitions we are using
a TDC), yet no one has said anything (out of respect for the
gentleman's experience as manifested by his PSA titles?)

>When advised of these specific effects,
>even Pulfrich-naysayer DrT admitted they were happening for him too!

Yes, but he did not say he liked it, did he? :-) I'll have to
try it again (as a passenger this time! :-))

There is an old gentleman in Detroit who is selling his personal
collection of equipment at very reasonable prices, yet I am the only
one interested in buying... The best bargains are found in stereo
clubs, I think... Most members are too spoiled from finding bargains
through their long involvement in stereo, that they have no interest
in buying at "reasonable" prices... This gentleman (with a very long
history in Detroit, winner of the "Helin Tackle" top award for the
years 1961, 62, 68, 74 and 78 - I have his Realist 2.8 for sale if
interested :-)) also said that no one in his family is interested
in his stereo slides, other than family pictures. Of course, I
offered to find a good home for those too! :-)

Final comment: Paul managed to do great with Dr. T's 4 hour sleep
schedule. After a long day walking around Cleveland, 6 hours
drive to Detroit, 3 hour stereo club meeting, a dinner at 1:30 am,
he still had the energy and curiosity to see how the Realist
rangefinder is adjusted under moonlight at 2:30 am! But he will
have to come back to receive his VDT Phase II program where he
will be required to go over EVERY SINGLE stereo slide from the
50s (including the monoscopic, pseudoscopic, misaligned, out of
focus, etc.) every VM and every stereo card in Dr.T's collection.
(This is a week long program, even with 4 hours sleep a night!)
