DOF and Manual Focus

Regarding previous discussions of above, I specifically updated my
line of Minolta Maxxums for the 700si which offers both features.
I have found the DOF in particular quite helpful and use it constantly
before shooting to check what is or isn't going to be in focus at a
particular aperture. Especially in the use of the slide bar for macro 3d,
it is practically essential to ensure sharpness throughout the image.
The ability to choose Manual focus also comes in handy for slide bar
macros or other situations when the lens may be perplexed about just
exactly where you intend the main focus, especially if it is meant to be
otherwise than the center of the frame. Yes, the image darkens at f22
by pushing the DOF button, but it is still quite visible and seems to
present no problem.
