Realist scanning

I recently had occasion to have some Realist-format slides scanned for th=

website of the Stereo Club of Southern California. These were all old
images from the club library, some of which had won awards twenty years o=

more ago. They were all mounted in glass and aluminum mounts, and could n=
ot
easily be disassembled for scanning with my equipment, which requires 2x2=

mounts. I was pleased to see that list member Jon Gross (Catalyst
Corporation) offered a scanning service that could handle Realist mounts,=

and so I gave him a try. I am pleased to report that I was extremely happ=
y
with the results. The scans were well exposed and the color balanced
perfectly, and Jon even took the time to clean them first (some of them
really needed it!). At $3.50 a slide, I think I got my money's worth. (An=
