Kodak b&w diapositives?

The desired goal is to make black & white diapositives (i.e., slides). We
all know about Agfapan Scala 200 ($8.39 for 36 exp. + $5.95 processing mailer
-- from B&H). I read the inside instructions on a roll of Kodak T-max 100
(professional b&w print film) and discovered,

"Reversal Applications: Expose at ISO 50 to produce slides with reversal
processing in the KODAK T-MAX 100 Direct Positive Film Developing Outfit."

My question, have any of my brothers- and sisters-of-the-stereoscope
experience using this film in this way? Would you describe the results as
acceptable? Economical?

I would like very much to hear other viewpoints and experiences/attempts with
making black & white diapositives.
