Question about slides, NOT slide mounts!!!

Darren Gunderson asked:

>I have never had any experience with
>projection and have found that my mounting job is not really standarized
>enough to change slides and not have to adjust the projector.... is there
>a standard slide that I can use...so that I do not put people through
>my fiddling about.

And Rev. Robert Linnstaedt replied:

>Yes, there is. It's called the RBT and mounting is quite easy....
 [snip plug for RBT mounts]

With all due respect Rev., the question was about a standarized SLIDE, not
SLIDE MOUNTS! Hence you are replying off topic again... (you even altered
the subject line which originally read "Standardized Slide?" to "re:
standardized slide mounts"!)

And the good Rev. adds:

>BTW, you can safely ignore Dr. T's strange comments as he was up too
>early in the morning to be his usually coherent self.

I tried to answer the question asked and I have nothing to sell. I said
that if the mounting is done correctly, then all the slides become
"standarized slides", or a standard slide is not needed. One can mount
correctly in a variety of mounts, including cardboard. RBTs might
be "blessed" by you, but they are not the only choice. The fact that
your RBT-mounted show was flawless while the cardboard-mounted show
needed constant projector adjustment PROVES ABSOLUTELY NOTHING regarding
the accuracy of each mounting system.

Apparently Darren is looking for a properly mounted slide so he can
use it to check mounting on his own slides and to adjust his projector.
He is not looking for a sermon on your favorite mounting medium. You
are entitled to your own opinion but please make it clear that it is
just your opinion, not Pope's. :-)

Regards,

George Themelis (1:30 am, at a peak of mental coherence)
