Realist 45 and TDC Colorist I problem

I going to be a regular "newbie" and ask a basic
question. Not long ago I bought a Realist 45 from
Dr. T. I like the camera, although it is arguably
one of the ugliest stereo cameras ever made.
What I would like to know is when the 45 was
introduced? Was it late fifties or the sixties?
Anyone out there have an opinion on this camera?
I also bought a TDC Colorist I from someone on S3D.
That is one of the classiest looking stereo cameras
and it has nice sharp lenses. Unfortunately, on the
second roll of film I stupidly tried to REwind the
film with the WIND knob. I broke the plastic film
take-up spool, now it spins freely on the metal shaft.
I vaguely remember someone talking about this as a
common problem with the TDC Colorist. Anyone know
how to fix this? I was thinking of trying to find
a similar take-up spool in an old 35mm camera and
adapt it to the Colorist.
Thanks in advance.
Harolddd.
