There is an annual air show at the US Air Force base in Dayton, Ohio
(Wright-Patterson AFB).  I don't remember when it is scheduled (I
normally watch it on TV long after it is over).

The Cleveland Air Races used to be a big event.  Perhaps there is some
sort of exhibit or plaque commemorating it at the airport or a local
museum.
