This is not the same thing. With practice, just like learning any new
skill, it would be uncomfortable initially. But trying to get used to
certain distortions, (like converging lenses) is not something one
would learn to live with and does cause discomfort. Most stereographers
use toeing in as a last resort and not because they want to achieve a
certain effect. Converging could be used for some rather LIMITED
effects, which so far, still haven't been found.

If used for a purely artistic effect then it could probably be
justified, since anything can be justified in art. (and then all
bets are off on trying to debate this) but it will never be used
as a standard technique in twin cameras. (barring Dr.T's good word
on the matter). This is because it is not only a distortion that
mispresents the realistic world but a distortion that mispresents
ANY world, be it existing, imaginary, or whatever else there is.
It should be aptly described as a distortion fault. The result,
making it very difficult to fuse these images and no amount of
practice will make it possible to see them "better".

Gabriel, who will break the rules, if given a good reason.
         None so far.
