On 2 Jul 97, P3D Dr. George A. Themelis replied to John R:
> >I think it's great to have both terms in the title - one is more precise,
> >and one is better known. Put together, they make it entirely clear what's
> >being discussed.
> OK, "Stereographic" is not well known to the masses, and "Three-
> Dimensional" is confused with other things that are not stereoscopic.
I have to agree with Morris & John R., when you start talking
about 3D (esp. on a computer) you have to add 'Stereo-something!'
There is way too 2.5D out there confusing newbies.
> Well, sorry but it does not sound right to me.
> It is not OK if they are both thrown in our face as if they
> mean different things, as in "a stereoscopic three-dimensional camera",
> or "I am shooting stereo 3d pictures". A small point... but...
It DOES sound funny, but the mass audience doesn't know
a 'stereo' club has anything to do with photography.
What a great week for Stereoscopic 3D!!!
I received my 'Everything Twice' newsletter. Thanks Rev. Charlie,
keep 'em coming!
I received my latest '3DINK'. Thanks Bruce Rosenberger! BTW
Bruce, I am the first person to solve the 3D Wordfind, you know
where to send my prize! What does pulfrich have to do with 3D
comics?
The NSA convention, need I say more?
Next week I will receive my copy of the '3D News' and probably
my first copies of the "Ohio Stereo Photographic Society"
newsletter.
I guess the only thing that could top all these newsletters
would be the next issue of 'Stereo World'. Since Dr. T has
not yet recieved his, I know I won't be receiving my for
at least another month!
Lawrence
