While we are all waiting for the first detailed reports from Bellevue, let
me entertain you with my latest news...

This weekend I managed to install an Ektar lens board in my 7p Realist.
The Kodak Ektars are the first 2.8 lenses to be put in a Realist
camera. Due to the expense of these lenses only about 1000 Ektar Realists
were produced until Realist switched to a different manufacturer. The
Ektar lenses have a very good reputation and are in high demand among
Realist users.

After I installed the Ektar lens board in my 7p Realist, I checked the
focus and the left lens was OK but the right was a bit off. So I figured
how to adjust individual lenses. I am now running a test roll. If
everything goes well, I will try this camera next weekend in Chicago
and then will take it with me to Greece. If you would like o meet around
downtown Chicago next weekend, drop me a note.

So my Realist might be the first 7p Realist with Ektar lenses. If you
remember, I had my Realist modified to 7p by John Slivon and I am now
getting 20 wider pairs. I am still very happy with John's work. The 7p
Realist is working like a charm and I am anxious to try it with the Ektar
lens board. I have another Realist for 5p stereo pictures one with Ilex
Paragon lenses, which I like a lot. Both Realists are going with me to
Chicago and Greece, together with my Minolta X-700 twin SLR rig. It is
going to be one HEAVY camera bag!!! No wonder the straps are broken!
