|The short answer is that your visual system can tolerate a few percentage
|points of image size difference between the two eyes. If you decrease the
|viewing distance (so that the ratio of image sizes increases) you might
|start to have trouble fusing them.

Yes - I've even noticed this with my perscrip glasses since the
correction factor is somewhat different between the two lenses.
One gives an image slightly larger than the other (I don't know if
this is normal or not - I can see arguments both ways, so to speak).
It doesn't seem to make a great deal of difference in my stereo
vision, though.
