Auctioning one's work (was: NSA '97)

Why are you surprised? How often do you see contemporary
stereo slides or VM reels for sale, to expect to see them
in the NSA Auction?

I only buy ORIGINAL slides (mainly from the 50s), not copies.
I would be a bit worried about buying someone's contemporary
original work. Why is he selling it? And why would I be
selling my work??? I am an amateur photographer who takes
pictures for my own personal enjoyment. When I pass away
I will let Dalia's successors sell my collection of personal
slides, minus the ones that my family decides to keep.

You are proud that you had 22 lots blocked with your images?
How about those who are not interested in buying "Bill C. Walton
Stereographs"? Maybe we should have a "Bill C. Walton" auction
from now on...

The painless way to donate to NSA is to pull out your checkbook
when the subscription notice arrives and add a donation. That's
what I have been doing for years now...

As I've said, I am taking pictures to make myself happy and don't
give a dime for the collector of Chicago images... When the time
comes to sell some of my own images, they will have a fixed price
tag. I don't like auctions...
