We're not reviewing SL3D here. I understand how the SL3D works by placing
red and blue filters in the lens to divide the photo into a left and right
anaglyph pair. And, I understand that viewing these photos with anaglyph
glasses made with the same colors as the filters used when taking the
picture reproduces the left and right image for the viewer.

However, the comments about the increasing the 3D effect simply by viewing
the element with anaglyph glasses does not seem valid to me. IF the
microscope had a red & green filter in the lens in accordance to SL3D
properties, then YES, you would see the object in 3D while viewing through
the eyepieces with anaglyph glasses.

Simply putting on a pair of anaglyph glasses and viewing an object through
the eyepieces of a bi-ocular is not going to make it 3D, whether it's two
lenses with an inter-ocular distance between them or a SL3D setup along
with the proper viewing glasses. That's like saying, "here's a 2D picture
of Aunt Martha. Now, put these anaglyph glasses on and watch her become
3D." Ain't gonna happen!
