San Fran. trip & Bas relief -- what is it?

Well, I'm back from my trip to San Francisco. Paul Talbot
was gracious enough to mail a Realist to my hotel so I'd
be able to take 'real' 3d pictures (as opposed to shooting
with two rigged disposables). He should be commended
for putting his good faith in me and providing me with a
wonderful first experience with a stereo camera. I have
yet to develop the TWO rolls I shot (hey, I'm no Dr. T just
yet ;) ). I'm planning on sending them to Photo Works in
Illinois since they will do individual prints for a very reasonable
rate. Does anyone have any qualms about their quality?
I also get the negs returned uncut. For now, I will scan them
in and make the necessary adjustments to get good looking
stereo views. Eventually, I'll probably want to mount the
prints (or, switch to slides...??).

In Dalia's thank you message, she mentions tips/tricks for
doing bas reliefs. I'm presuming that this is a stereo view
that actually has a 3d feel to it?? Could someone explain
more precisely what it is and how it's achieved? TIA,

Adam

PS -- Paul, please send me the address to forward the
Realist to, and a total for the postage (I'm passing on your
offer for a viewer for now).
