Paul S. Boyer wrote a nice helpful commentary on portrait
photography, but if I'm reading it correctly, I disagree
with one of the statements:

If you double the FL of the taking lens without changing the FL
of the viewing lens, the result will be "squash"--the opposite
of stretch. This should enhance the portrait.
Longer FL lenses are especially recommended if the slide will
be projected, to counteract the stretch effect that all viewers
behind the ortho seat will experience.
