You don't have to belong to the elite club... They have the plugin for Netscape
at www.simpletoon.com. However, the installation file ASSUMES you have
Netscape installed to the c:\Program Files\Netscape\Program directory. I
don't, but copied the plugin's .dll file to my plugin directory. This may have
worked if it weren't for the fact that I'm accessing the Internet through a
firewall from work right now, and the plugin uses Java in such a way that I
can't view it (either that, or copying the file resulted in the error). So, no
fireworks seen here... :( Simpletoon must have some deal going with
Microsoft to make it so hard to use their plugin (I can't even say for sure
that it would work just by copying the file into the plugin directory).
There's an assignment for someone not behind a firewall...?!
The Simpletoon player appears to allow graphics created with the Simpletoon
Maker to go 'beyond' the browser window. The graphics [supposedly] roam/fly
around your screen, peek in from the edge of the window, or other window-
penetrating actions. As for the fireworks display, it does seem as though it's
meant to be in 3D, and the effect of it exceeding the browser window would
probably make for an even more realistic look...?
