Let me add that I shot a roll of K64 that sat in my parents refrigerator
for 10 years and the results were great. In fact it has led me to
experiment with ProK25 which I normally use. Rather than deal with
expiration dates I buy Pro Kodachrome for the more consistent control
it undergoes. I then place it on TOP of my refrigerator to age it.
My control batch seems to work best at 1 year ageing. My 1st batch of
year old PK25 is back from the lab and justifies my efforts. However,
the same cannot be said for ProK200. A year old refrigerated PK200 had
shifted magenta and I usually get good results from fresh PK200. My
suspicion is that in all the Kodak layoffs (or RIF's) over the past few
years they let go the people who really knew K25 &K64. K200 being
a relatively newer film means they still have the people who know it.
NSA '97
Two quick questions about things I saw there.
1) at the trade show there were exhibited a number of framed prints
which could be viewed with the polarized glasses. I believe they were
printed with inkjet printers. Does anyone have information on how
these prints were made?
2) I noticed an ad by someone (ad lost in the vortex of my apt.) who
runs a stereo photo stock agency. Does anyone have any information
on this?
