vertical dark and light band problem

Hi all,

A couple of weeks ago I wrote to inquire whether anyone knew what could
have caused a "test strip"-like exposure problem with different degrees
of overexposure in varying widths of vertical bands the entire length of
an otherwise perfectly shot:-) roll. I was thinking the other day(!)
and I think what must have happened was that the shutter was stuck open
while I rewound the film. It's the only way to explain what happened to
that roll. Didn't someone mention this problem with a certain make of
camera a while ago? I've tried to search it in the archives but to no
avail. Anyone remember anything like this? What make of camera was it
and what steps can be made to avoid the problem?

Thanks,
Don
