New Hampshire Crossroads (Kilburn views)

I finally got a chance to look at a copy of New Hampshire Public
Television's production on the Kilburn Brothers which was initially
broadcast May 19th (I have a colleague who has a sister who lives
in Vermont, who has a friend who lives in New Hampshire :-)

It's the sort of "local color" show that you see in various regions
of the country, but I thought it rather well done and unpretentious.
Fritz Weatherbee (the host) has a nice style of presentation.

Highlights: Paul Wing is interviewed, and there are a number of shots
of antique cameras/viewers. The history of the Kilburn operation (up
the the acquisition by Keystone) is covered in detail.

They digitized a number of views into anaglyph format - although
they also showed a number of standard cards - if you are a quick
freeviewer and your TV image isn't too big, you should be able to
converge them. I don't have a pair of red/blue glasses handy, so
can't say how well the anaglyphs work. One thing they said which I
might have an argument with is along the lines that although the
anaglyph doesn't work well on television (they must have been
watching CBS!) it works *perfectly* on computer monitors -- well...

So they have a number of the anaglyphs on their web site which
you can check out. The first URL below is for the "main page"
on the program - the second is a bit closer to the anaglyph
"gallery". They do have copies of thier programs available but
you have to call to get the price (if somebody does that, maybe
you could post what it might be?).

One nice touch is that whomever digitized the views preserved the round
top format, and put a nice historically accurate cream colored background
into the images :-)
