Really. I didn't realize that. I was really hoping I could
upgrade the optics affordably. *IF* the lenses could be replaced with
glass ones purchased from an optical supply house (and I realize you are
saying that they can't), just how much would something like that cost? I
would like the cost estimate just to satisfy my curiousity if you don't
mind...

The funny thing is I was looking for a Nimslo camera when I
discovered the Nishika. I had just learned from someone back East that
Nishika had bought the Nimslo camera specs when I came across the Nishika
ad in the newspaper the next day. It was a strange coincidence. This
was back in 1990, so it was during the major push by Nishika thru their
multi-level marketers. I was only 21 and a bit naive, so I let them
dazzle me with their lenticular photos and I swallowed hard and invested
the almost $400 for the whole kit. To be fair, tho', I didn't know
anybody else in the world that was interested in 3D photography. I was
living in Provo, UT. I had no access to any 3D photography information.
And I spent the next 7 years taking wonderful 3D photos with my camera
before I discovered this list the other day. People here may not think
much of the camera (and I do admit that it has it's flaws. It is very
hard to get good 3D photos with that camera), but I've sure had a lot of
fun using it. ;)

Thankyou for the information. I have looked into it and it
appears that I will be wasting my time and money upgrading my Nishika,
and that it will be a difficult process at best. I am better off buying
a Nimslo, tho' I would probably rather spend my money first on a Realist.
Nimstech will be releasing 4-lens cameras of their own next Winter and
one of those cameras will have glass optics for only $120. I may just
wait until then to spend my money...
