DrT quotes
While searching some computer files I found the following DrT photo-3d
quotes. Thought I'd share them with you on a slow Friday afternoon:
* The equivalent of not bracketing shots in photography is not backing up
files in the computer. Unfortunately, I practice both...
* When the photography is not that great the only subjects that hold any
interest are people and cars.
* Bad slides roll much faster than good ones. More time is spent for
viewing pleasure than viewing torture.
* 3-d alone is not enough to make good stereo photography. We must have
good photography in the first place.
* 3-d by itself is exciting until the novelty wears out. I do not hear any
"wow's" for seeing the world with two eyes in real life.
* Introducing people to 3-d is the first step for making 3-d more popular.
Improving our own work and presenting it to the public is the second step.
* Give clothes or CDs for presents. Not stereo cameras! Let the potential
3-d addict pay for his own tools... Works better this way...
* If the picture looks kind of strange, try reversing it!
* 3-d is something special and should be treated with respect.
* Let's ask for a 3-D IMAX theater in our city but not ask for every
ordinary movie to be shot in 3-d.
* The realism of a good 3-d slide viewed in a good 3-d viewer is something
that very few people can witness and remain indifferent.
* We experience stereo by seeing stereo, and how stereo is presented in our
eyes is extremely important.
* The stereo window adds to the realism and the appeal of viewing. Please,
don't take my stereo window away!!!!
* I am not worried that slide film will disappear from the market... I am
only worried that the average beginner gets discouraged from using it.
* You have to differentiate between what's essential and what's convenient.
The camera and viewer are essential. The rest are not.
* The process of acquiring your tools, piece by piece, and building up your
system, is an equally exciting part of this hobby.
* I have this theory that the more time and effort you put into something,
the more personal satisfaction you get out of it.
* Realist slides were a novelty in 1947 for the world and a novelty in 1988
for me. My first Realist snapshots were seen, at the time, as masterpieces.
* I can think of a few people who have done a lot of reading but, without
enough practice, they still cannot mount properly. All you need is the
desire to improve and practice.
* Imagine what would have happened if accompanying the Stereo Realist
camera was a crappy little junkie viewer...
* Unfortunatly, it was sunny.
* Images are judged based on how they look. What is being judged is what
is being seen... That's life and I see nothing wrong with it.
