True!  Reminds me of a picture that my mom sent from our vacation.
It is a picture of my father and myself next to each other.  We are
totally out of focus, while the wall far behind us is sharp.
It's an awful picture and I would not have kept it.  She called
to ask if I had received this "wonderful" picture. When I mentioned
the out-of-focus problem, she got upset saying that this is not important,
it is the content that counts!

I am not so sure... It might rise and fall as a novelty, provided that
the technical details are solved and the system is convenient to use
and marketed properly.
