Chromo stereopsis?
Jim Crowell writes:
=22There's also a visual effect by this name, based on the same principle.=
Too small to notice in everyday life. Because in most people the pupil is
not centered on the lens of the eye, you can get different wavelengths
being diffracted by different amounts, typically in opposite directions in
the two eyes, with the result that different colors can appear separated in=
depth. The 3-DVG device that pops up on the list every now & then
exaggerates this effect (among other things).=22

I have noticed this in stereo prints with the particularily with colours
red and blue either using the stereoscope or in free viewing. I am also
sure I have noticed it in normal 2D slides also. Do you have a reference
book or would any book on vision or optics have a reference to this term? =

I have not yet found a reference.
Thanks
