Bob Wier asked about T2-3D. I recently completed a six-week engagement
playing music at Universal Studios; all I had to do was get to work a bit
early and I could be first in line any day. So, yes, I've seen Terminator 3-D
a few times.

It's a bit more sophisticated than an old-fashioned 'throw things at the
audience' film--instead of pies and spears, there are little flying robots,
and lots of laser blasts and explosions. In the climatic scenes, the T-1000
model Terminator morphs into a metallic spider/octopus and reaches out and
waves a tentacle under your nose before it's blown to smithereens. In-house
(live) actors, lights, fog, fireworks, and motion (the seats jiggle a bit)
add to the effect. It's great, but not good enough to pay $40 and stand in
line for an hour or more.

I won't be taking my five-year-old daughter to see it, either--way too
violent for her. She's seen the 3-D Muppet film a few times, and whenever the
cute little critters start flying around in front of the screen, she
immediately whips off the glasses. Same with L7-City in Space whenever
something comes through the screen. It scares her. (On the other hand, she is
finally a big View-Master fan. I guess she grew enough that she can look into
the viewer with both eyes at once.)

best wishes to all,
Andy Burr
