The first time I ran a battery down I got this effect, most
of the roll was overexposed. Now I just replace the battery 
as often as I can. Then again, I'm using a FED modified for
western #76 batteries. Still the answer to the question is
yes; you will get overexposure as the battery fades. I now
replace the battery before an important doing any critical 
photography sessions.
