 Physical, it is a low to mid end drum scanner.

For drum scanners, the LEAF "el cheapo" can do 5000 dpi for a 4x5 negative.

"el cheapo" = $15,000 +taxes, shipping etc  ($ US)

Justifying a 10000 dpi scan isn't hard BTW.
