I had planned to thank John, but I see that that Eddie got there
first by posting just before midnight the night of the talk. I
had hoped to go to the NSA meeting, but one of my two favorite
nieces took it upon herself to decide to get married on the first
day of the convention, so a second chance to hear John's talk
was most welcome.

The meeting was sparsely attended, I hope as a result as the recent
holiday weekend, rather than mathophobia. Most of the talk involved
examples of the effect of focal length, print size or projected slide
image size, and viewing distance on the perceived perspective. This
is stuff that applies to 2D pictures as well as 3D, and has been in
print for years, but still does not seem to be well known. At least,
it was not mentioned in the two good photography classes my wife has
taken.

Anyway, as Eddie said, it was good of John to take time to prepare and
present the talk, and it was well received.
