I find Bob Maxey's comment and explicative somewhat insulting. 

Just because YOUR kodachromes look PERFECT to you doesn't dispute what most
educated photo archivists have known for some time: NO CONVENTIONAL SLIDE
MATERIAL, whether Kodachrome or not, is completely resistant to fading over
time, no matter what conditions the material is kept in. Changes to the
density even in total darkness have been well documented. Yes, the effects
it can be REDUCED, but not absolutely eliminated. Furthermore there is also
no guarantee that these materials were processed to archival standards in
the first place unless YOU yourself processed them and knew what you were doing.

I'm all for proper storage of images. But your post leaves me questioning
what research went unto your arrogant statement.
