In contrast, at NSA 97 I was asked NOT to bring slides in cardboards mounts
OR include B&W shots, all because they were using a TDC for my workshop.
Damn limiting had I obliged.
Do all TDC projectors allow for fan cooling with the bulb off? I seem to
recall the last one I had didn't. Yes, the Triad does.
One projector that hasn't been mentioned is the cute little Diatom. I had
one years ago and always regretted selling it. It's completely silent ( no
fan), uses a single bulb, and has the unique feature of front-mounted
polarisers that flip up between views. This allows you to register the
images perfectly first and then switch to 3d, a great relief to the audience!
If slide baking were a concern with front mounted polarisers ( which I don't
think it is), wouldn't heat absorbing glass be more appropriate behind the
slide than "protecting it" with a polariser? Conventional slide projectors
don't use polarisers either.
