Re: Triad vs TDC

As long as there is all this discussion about the Triad and TDC
projectors would it be possible to extend it to Brackett and RBT and
all the rest? Just what is the very best stereo projector regardless
of price (you can always discuss price after the votes are in). Which
has the best optics, the best carrier, the best controls, etc.? What
is the projector to screen distance (let's use a 60x60 screen for
comparison)? What are the weak points of each?
I assume there has been discussion in past digests, but as many have
noticed, there seems to be a lot of new (at least vocal) members that
would benefit from the discussion without having to "search the
archives". I know I certainly would.
I own a TDC 116, have seen a few slides in an RBT (thanks Shab Levy),
and saw lots of slides in a Brackett at NSA 97 (was real disappointed
at the unwillingness of the projectionists to adjust or even focus).
But I still don't have any solid information or hands on experience
to compare them all.
My one complaint about the TDC 116 with 5" lenses is that when I
project for myself I am too far away from the screen. I guess I have
three options: 1) get the 4" lenses which can be expensive and not
too easy to come by 2) have someone else do the projecting while I
sit in the ortho seat and enjoy 3) get magnifying polarizing glasses.
Speaking of which, has anyone ever tried to put polarizing filters on
a pair of opera glasses or other magnifiers?
Thanks for the time,
