That's correct.  Some 3d dealers offer 4" lenses in exchange for 5"
lenses.  It might also be easier to find a spare pair of 5" lenses.
Then you can buy a projector with 4" lenses, replace them with 5", 
sell the projector and you just upgraded your spare 5" to 4".

Correct again.  It would be nice to be behind the audience so
that you don't block their view and also eliminate some of the
projector noise.
