Image Tech 3D Wizard

Today I was reviewing quite a number of pictures taken with this camera.
Thought I'd share some of the observations.
A lot of detail present in the images themselves doesn't translate into the
lenticular prints very well. Of the rolls that they processed and made
lenticular prints, the regular prints made locally show much more detail and
in some cases the images were less washed out than they appeared as lents.
Relatively many of the prints have light streaks and severe discoloration in
the negatives, possibly due to high temperatures. The only thing I can
imagine is it must be from carrying the camera in sunlight for a few
minutes. I don't recall leaving it sitting unprotected in sunlight at any
time. The black body of the camera must heat up rapidly, causing
discoloration to whatever film is in place for exposure or already exposed.
Or maybe there is a light leak. This is a use and hide it in the shade kind
of camera. Shoot a complete roll of film and remove it from the camera right
away.
The local drugstore variety of printing services are extremely inconsistent
at positioning the half frame prints on the print paper, often cutting off
needed edge material for optimum stereo pairs. They are also not careful to
focus the image properly which can screw up an otherwise good image pair.
When it works, it's a convenient and good way to get stereo pair prints that
look better than the lenticulars. However, you can rely on Murphy to apply
any of the above problems to the single image set you most wanted.
In the future I will explore alternate sources for processing and printing
and take extra care to stay out of direct sunlight with the camera.
