Congrats to Eric Drysdale and Greg Dinkins...and not necessarily in that
order! Friday night is their first NYC CLub meeting...wish I could be
there...but we have our meeting on Sunday and I goot prepare for that.
I went to my first Stereo New England Metting almost ten years
ago...when Ron Labbe introduced me to 3D. I was impressed by the
friendly down to earth group....and seeing all the cameras and stuff.
we had around forty people strong that day...
Within three years we were busting out of that space....with sity to
seventy people jamming the room.
Today we are so fortunate to have a l;arge professinal presentatioon
auditoriuim...with meeting attendance in the last year of between 70 ans
131 people.
Its not easy to acheive this...and sometimes I scratch my head and
wonder how we pull it off up here in New England (Certainly the Kennedys
have not helped, and they had a little Realist format action happening
way back then!)
I feel one key to a good meeting is quality programs...so to clubs out
ther....netowrk as much as possible..and seek good programs, get to NSA
and see as much stereo theatre as possible, talk to Dalia, and Dok
Tee...and whoever has a projector....a screen, and get roomful of
curiosos.....that is a big attraction, and thats how it all
starts....and I am glad to hear of the other clubs that have popped up
out there in 1997. Good luck Greg, Eric...and all. Jon Golden
