Trouble with Overlapping Slides on Realist

Hi -
  Possibly some of you Realist owners out there will know the answer
to this problem:
   The last roll of slides I got back from my Realist camera (I'm only on
my 5th roll, so I'm pretty new) contained a large number of overlapping
slides.  Having run across a couple of overlaps on my first and second
rolls, I am now VERY careful to FULLY advance the film until it clicks
and STOPS.  The overlap is always less than 1/2 perf, but it's enough
to screw up a lot of otherwise good slides.
  I did notice that there were a string of slides I took in one sitting that
do NOT overlap, whereas the ones that overlapped were usually taken
at least a day apart.  Is it possible that my film is slipping forward into
the take-up roll? (My only guess.)
