Kodalux and mounting

I've been taking stereo pictures since 1986, and back then Kodak in
Rochester had a mounting service that was, although not accurate enough for
projection, consistently good enough to review in a viewer. I find it hard
to believe that Kodalux is in any way associated with the Rochester
company. Is this a substantiated fact? The original mounts used by Kodak
had their logo printed on it, and looked different in other fundamental
ways.
Although it would be nice to have a service to mount our slides for initial
evaluation, ultimately there is nothing like a well mounted stereo slide.
Additionally the experience of mounting yourself adds so much to the
enjoyment of the hobby. Your pictures become something you can dig your
hands into, not just something you look at. It's very satisfying to bring
your subject into the stereo window, exactly where you want it. It makes
all the difference in the world.
