My mini-diatribe was meant from a purely practical standpoint... describing
the problems that we encountered trying to actually use one of these things.
While you're correct in theory that when the mirrors are not parallel they
introduce keystoning, in practice the mirrors only swivel a few degrees,
and any keystoning they introduce isn't really noticeable.  This would
certainly qualify as one of the more minor problems of the system, IMO.

We have dropped the Reel-3D attachment several times (actually as I said
in the original post, it was knocked off the front of the camera), landing
on asphalt and bouncing several feet on at least one accasion.  So far the
mirrors are still intact.  So I guess you can say it's durable, if nothing
else.
