beam splitter quality

I can't tell you about the Pentax splitter but the Franka one from
Reel-3D is pretty poor quality.  I never got it to "sit" correctly on
the lens (even after replacing the plastic thread adapters with a metal
one) so that both images could focus properly (one would always be out
of focus).  Also, the back surface mirrors caused alot of ghost
relections in most outdoor pictures, and the f5.6 limitation on depth of
field made it hard to take good pics.  The Franka beam splitter usable
if you want nothing but quick 4x6 prints, but for any kind of slides,
getting alignment is next to impossible.

Let's just say, after trying to use the Franka splitter, I went and
bought a realist!!!
