It helps to establish a core of campus participants, the way we did at
Orange County (Middletown, NY)Community College last year. Striking up
a conversation with colleagues, discussing 3D relative to their
disciplines was a first step in involving others in what became a 3D
event last November. We had students, faculty and community
participation. The draw was a lecture on Stereograms by Marc Grossman,
a 3D slide show, and some simple display/demonstrations of 3D effects.

This year, on November 4th, 7:30 p.m. we will hold a second 3D event.
Simon Bell will be here to present "Fresh Perspectives: Stereographic
Work and Play." Bill Duggan will bring resources from NSA, and he will
present "Welcome to NSA 1998, Richmond, Virginia." Before the show,3 to
5:30 p.m., our students will host exhibitions, open to the public, that
will feature many modes of 3D imagery... VRex is loaning a 50 inch
projection TV, and some "first photos taken by students" will also be
included, along with samples of stereoscopes, viewmasters, and "free
viewing" materials.

Bill Duggan will provide a workshop for beginners, "Introduction to
Stereo Photography," at 2 on the afternoon of the event.

How many will take advantage of this opportunity? I am not sure, but I
am optimistic that we will have a good crowd. I am also sure that we
will not fill the 1200 seat theater where we will hold the show!! Our
college theater is being renovated.

I will restate your question: Anybody out there want to attend?
