Cleveland - Great stereo meeting!
Just came back from our monthly stereo club meeting. We had a great
time! Our honorable president opened the meeting by saying a few
things about View Master, the history, the importance, the present
status and the future. We then projected a variety of reels
(regular, personal, etc.) with a black 2 1/4" VM projector.
After the break we held our first stereo slide competition in two
phases. In the first phase, the 44 slides were judged (scored) by
the panel of our three esteemed judges. In the second phase each
slide was projected and critiqued by the judges. Very interesting
experience. Lots of good images and good critique.
I am especially pleased to see beginners do good work. One gentleman
just used a Realist camera through the "Rent-A-Realist" club program
in August and took two rolls. His pictures were great and took
awards. Beginner photo-3d member Mark Dottle (accompanied this time
by Karen!) did well with his first Realist shots. The photo-3d
education is paying off! Old-timer Ron Fross did great with some
classic 3d shots, and so did Vice-President Jim Motley. Too many
names too many good pictures. A full report will follow in our
newsletter. It is both inspiring and pleasing to attend these
meetings and see people learning by sharing images and enjoying
good stereo photography,
George Themelis, Cleveland 3D reporter
