Cleveland Meeting

Just attended my second Ohio Stereo Photographic Society meeting. Due to
recent copyright discussions on P3D lists, our club's 
own copyright search concluded that the new proposed name for the club
"Motley Crue" was taken by the famous rock band, thus Jim Motley's
campaign to change the name was shelved for the time being. I was
promptly greeted by Dr.T, handing him a Realist camera and some cold
cash.....not a bribe for a favorable judging score.....some eyebrows
raised in suspicious wonderment....could "T" be
slipping into illegal film smuggling activities once again? We agreed on
the story that he is fixing the light leak. And the roll of 100's?
Shipping charges of course! After a historical rundown of the
Viewmaster, the competition begins as " T " implements a dangerous blend
of sight and sound.....a wireless mic for the judges! Grandmaster Motley
was awarded the podium with a live mic as well! I heard alot of
"snap,crackle,pop"......similar I imagine to a bowl of Rice Crispies in
7UP as an old Benny
Goodman 45 spins on a warbled turntable with a bad needle.....something
like that. Anyway, the thrill of hearing ones own voice over the PA
system must exceed the desire to hear the spoken words in an articulate
manner, kinda like viewing a lenticular print I guess.....??
Jim Motley " brought the house down" with his first words......I'm not
sure what he said but as his mouth smacked the mic and sent the
windscreen rolling across the floor I thought..
"Ouch...that must have hurt!.....hope he didn't chip a tooth!"
Longwinded critiques and longwinded explanations as to why longwinded
critiques were slowing up the program, slowed up the program......sure
the place was "out of order" but a great time was had by all and this
meeting was alot of fun!! Oh ya...I think one or two of my slides got
good scores too.
