I wonder if the vignetting is caused by old worn sloppy shutters.
I had bad vignetting on my Realsit 3.5 before I sent it to Zak.
He said the shutters were very bad so he replaced them.  I have 
yet to use the camera since then, but I will pop a roll through there
to see if that fixed the problem.  Perhaps those of you who have bad 
vignetting can do a quick check by setting the shutter to T and then
pressing the shutter release (after cocking the shutter), then take 
off the back and then bump the camera side to side and see if the 
shutter moves.

Just a theory:)
