Re: Stereo's Future

Holmes cards *are* a commonly used means of viewing stereo, however,
viewing stereo itself isn't popular, so holmes card viewing isn't either. :-(
My local stereo club is having a holmes-card competition tommorow
(well, actually later this morning I see... :-)

Kinda. A couple mixed threads. Partly about digital taking over film
based cameras, as well as the stereo versions of those digital ones.
There probably are two different versions of things going on contributing
to heated agreements. One sub-thread is talking about the replacement
of the current film-based niche of photography called 3D with a
digital camera based niche of photography called 3D-digital. The
other subthread wants to get ALL of photography over to digital and
then get all of photography over to digital-3D.
Clear? As mud? :-)
The first thread is an easy one. The digital camera market already is
going along pretty well in a 2D-photography niche of it's own. It
only needs to be a 2D-niche for a 3D-niche to happen.
The other subthread is the hard one. Getting the masses to put up
with viewing and camera problems that they don't have with current
P&S + prints (and the social gathering point junque).
