Projection Darkness

     Quite right about not being able to totally darken the projection room.
Some tips, though:

     Do the show when it's dark outside. Most rooms won't allow complete
blocking of outside light. What with the effects of Daylight Saving Time, a
show at 2030 in January will be much better than at the same "time" in July.

     If you can decorate the space yourself as a dedicated stereo/video
theater, use dark non-reflective surfaces throughout.
     If the room is multipurpose and high key, consider portable,
lightweight, flat black hangings or baffles.

     A very large gymnasium or "auditorium" may be better than a small room
since reflections from the screen will be of less intensity due to the
distance they have had to travel.

     I'm sure others have good strategies for this problem... please post
them to the list.
